Overview
The case of 11-year old boy is described. At 8th year of his age a hypothyreosis was found. Polydipsia, polyuria, headache, diplopia and panhypopituitarism occured at 9th year of age. MRI examination of CNS revealed twotumors localized in the pineal and suprasellar regions. Histological finding of resected part of the tumor at pinealregion revealed a germinoma. The boy was treated with radiotherapy and chemotherapy and complete remissionwas induced. Six months later the first relaps arose and the boy was treated with chemotherapy and the secondcomplete remission was induced. After the next six months a second relapse occurred. Because all possibilities oftherapy were exhausted, the therapy was only symptomatic and during the large infiltration of brain by the tumorthe boy died of bronchopneumonia 21 months after the beginning of the disease.
