Overview
The authors discuss the prosthetic treatment of defective dentition with so-calledtraumatic occlusion in a 49-year-old patient. By means of the Correct Bite System of diagnosticcorrective and mounting plates according to Schreinemaker reconstruction of the occlusionplane was made. The prosthetic sanation of the teeth was made first in the upper jaw byprovisional bridges, modelled in such a way that the tubercles touched the edges of themounting plate. Then provisional bridges were made in the lower jaw and articulated againstthe upper provisional prostheses. After an adaptation period the latter were replaced by fixedbridges. The authors discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the selected method andcompare it with other possibilities of occlusion therapy.
