Overview
The paper surveys validated questionnaires and scales for quantifi cation of sexual functions usedin the Czech Republic and abroad. It deals in detail with the issues of monitoring sexual functionsas a side effect of psychopharmacological agents’ administration and discusses the perils of theevaluation process as viewed both by the patient and the physician. In such cases it is recommended to use ASEX (Arizona Sexual Experience Scale), which is, however, subject to the authors’ approval, or UKU (Utvalg for Kliniske Undersogelser). Both methods areapplied in research on an international scale and allow for comparisons of prevalence of sexualfunctions across populations.
