The authors describe the basic methods of biological treatment of infertility (artefi cial inseminationand in vitro fertilization) and the role of psychotherapy. Beside the direct infl uence on the psychogenicinfertility the authors see the importance of psychotherapy in coping with the emotional stressconnected with examinations and with treatment, then in the searching for the alternative solutionsor in coping with the fact of a defi nitive infertility. The authors also mention the recommandedpsychotherapeutic methods and some ethical problems connected with the modern treatments.
