Overview
Cognitive impairment is consistently reported for patients with schizophrenia and is considered asa core defi cit in this disease. Impaired memory, attention and executive functions are main domainsunderlying multiple neuropsychological defi cit. Evidence is accumulating that these impairmentsare predominantly related to abnormalities in the prefrontal cortex and mediotemporal structuresof the brain.
