Overview
This overview study summarises the current view on mitral regurgitation from a clinical perspective. The aim of the manuscript is to describe the different types of mitral regurgitation focusing on their etiology and current therapeutic approaches and to point out the different indication criteria for surgical procedures or percutaneous interventions in individual types of mitral regurgitation.
Keywords:
primary mitral regurgitation – secondary mitral regurgitation – surgical treatment – percutaneous interventions
