Overview
Sepsis requires prompt recognition and aggressive therapy:
early goal-directed therapy decreases morbidity and mortality. Recommendations for the specific management of paediatric sepsis have historically been extrapolated from literature in adults and from expert consensus opinion. This review presents recent recommendations for the management of paediatric sepsis.
Keywords:
paediatric sepsis – severe sepsis – septic shock in children
