Overview
Upper urinary tract carcinomas are very similar (from the biological point of view) to bladder carcinomas, therefore knowledge and algorithms applied in bladder cancer treatment may apply here as well. Combinations based on cisplatin are preferred in neoadjuvant chemotherapy settings in upper urinary cancer treatment. In metastatic upper urinary tract carcinoma the same chemotherapy protocols as in metastatic bladder cancer are used.
Key words:
nephroureterectomy, intraluminal treatment, cisplatin
