Overview
Surgical techniques utilized in transplantations include harvesting procedures and the transplantation itself. Living-donor nephrectomy with its specific principles represents a special chapter. Kidney transplantation consists of two phases – vascular anastomosis and ureteral implantation. The aim of all operations associated with the transplantation is a kidney function recovery in the recipient body and ensurance of the optimal conditions for long-term graft function.
