RESOLUTION OF POSTTRAUMATIC ALOPECIA BY MEANS OD EXPANDERS

Overview
Widely ranging posttraumatic alopecia, is poorly tolerated by affected persons. Cicatricial bald defects on the scalp cannot be corrected by hair autotransplantation. Gradual excision of scars or extension methods always result in the formation of distention scars and this does not produce good cosmetic results. Where a significant part of skin cover with hair has been preserved, phased surgical procedures can be used with the application of tissue expanders. Even extensive defects in the head area can be covered if sufficient intact hairy skin is obtained.
