The author provides the information on an exceptional case of a complicated health status in a child who spent more than 500 days in a spa facility due to a diagnostic hesitation and unwillingness of leading experts to admit the fact of presence of psychosomatic problems in the child. At the same time, the imperfection of the current legal arrangement, which delegates the competence of decision about the length of the stay in a spa facility to the head of this facility, is mentioned. This institution is not legally responsible for the control of the purposeful and effective spending of resources of the public health insurance.
