Overview

Injury by a lightning strike is rare, has a high survival rate and a number of possible consequences. The aim of this study was to verify the effects of an individually selected physiotherapy program in patients after a lightning strike injury. The data obtained by observation was used to create a case study of a patient struck by lightning, during which we observed the effectiveness of individually adjusted therapy focused on the deficits found during examinations. We found that an individually selected physiotherapy program is effective in improving the patient’s physical condition in most of the affected areas. Respiratory amplitude, postural muscle function, and gait quality have all improved. The improvement in balance as well as conscious correction of posture have been the most prominent.
