Overview

The authors of the article deal with the problem of objectification of the impact of massage to the rheologic properties (viscosity end elasticity) of muscle tissue during the interaction of sport in terms of anaerobic duration. The whole work is a pilot study, which should show the possibility of objective evaluation of massage to the stiffness of soft tissue by using myotonometer.

The Goal:
The goal is evaluation of impact of massage to the stiffness of soft tissue – triceps surae muscle – after applied load with so-called instrument myotonometer.

Hypothesis:
We assume that the effect of 5 minutes of massage to triceps surae muscle, immediately after aerobic load is not significant compared to the passive break to triceps surae muscle.

Methods:
One factor experimental research with 2 groups (one experimental, one control) on 2 levels (2 interventions – massage, passive rest)

Results:
The results have not showed the influence of five-minute massage on the stiffness of triceps surae muscle. There were no differences found in terms of stiffness of muscle, which underwent massage and muscle without massage.

Key words:
massage, muscle stiffness, myotonometer, triceps surae muscle
