Overview
Orbitocellulitis is the most common complication of acute bacterial rhinosinusitis. The patient is in high risk of loss of sight and in case of intracranial spreading it could be fatal. The paper presents the case of a 15 - year old patient with bacterial acute rhinosinusitis, who despite the prompt and targeted conservative therapy suffered on the seventh day of hospitalization progress of intraorbital abscess, which must have been dealt with surgery. The aim of this paper is to point out the importance of careful patient observation and well-timed indication of the right imaging method and subsequently also the choice of therapy. It also emphasizes the importance of the cooperation amongst the otorhinolaryngologists, ophtalmologists and radiologists.
