Overview
Apprentices pass the professional practice during their occupational preparation, which comprises active involvement into theworking process. From the point of view of health protection of the youth and complying to work safety, it is important to create theworking conditions, which respect their body parameters. Upon this reason, anthropometric measurements were carried on atsecondary vocational schools in Banská Bystrica and Kysucké Nové Mesto. Altogether, 295 apprentices aged 15-20 years weremeasured. Results gained from 17 years old apprentices were compared to the results of measurements of the same parameters in17 years old students of grammar schools. Drawn upon our results, we can point out to the fact that it is suitable to use bodyparameters of future users for the purpose of arrangement and assessment of working places and classrooms for apprentices.
