Overview
Population ageing is a complex process with specific biological relations, which is also influenced by various societal factors and changes; vice versa the population ageing simultaneously influences many societal processes qualitatively as well as quantitatively. Prolongation of human life span brings about problems in the quality of life in the added years. It is therefore necessary to deal with functional fitness, functional health and various kinds of disability in the population over 50 years of age.
