Overview

Administration of bupropion is the most effective and safe non-nicotine therapy of tobacco dependence. It doublesthe success rate, similarly as nicotine replacement therapy. In heavy dependent smokers combination of bothmentioned therapies is recommended. From other antidepressant drugs, nortripyline is effective, and then clonidineand mecamylamine. But their effect is restricted.
