Overview
At present, our society is under the influence of a global phenomenon-aging population. There is a group of seniors who are economically dependent part of the population with specific requirements in terms of consumption and health care. This group makes up an increasing share. According to data from the Czech Statistical Office (CSO) in 2011 lived in CR 15.5 % of those aged over 65 years. In 2050, seniors would be able to generate 31.3 % of Czech population, which represents approximately 3 million people. The link between aging and pain is complex. There is generally accepted that pain is one of the factors significantly deteriorating quality of life. The sad fact is that even though today‘s medicine has available a wide range of effective analgesics, there are still seniors, laying lack of effective assistance. There is necessary to think about the specifics of pain in the elderly. The problem is the disregarding the health complains of the patient and lack of knowledge in the treatment of pain. If we dont find a objectified cause of pain, often downplay the problem. This article offers the overview of diagnostic and treatment specificities in seniors.
