Overview
Allergic rhinitis often represents the initial phase of a more serious disease, such as asthma. The etiopatogenesis, clinical picture, diagnosis, differential diagnosis and treatment of occupational allergic rhinitis are discussed here. Diagnosis of occupational allergic rhinitis is a complex procedure. Nasal-specific provocation test is the most characteristic test. This method measures the flow and resistance of air through the nasal cavity by rhinomanometry, before and after exposing the nasal mucous membrane to suspect allergen. Subjective nasal symptoms are scored by symptom score.
Key words:
occupational rhinitis, allergic rhinitis, complex diagnostic procedure, occupational disease.
