Overview
Head and neck cancers are of significant clinical importance. Using tobacco or alcohol increases the risk of incidence of these diseases. The dominant histological type of head and neck cancer is squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Symptoms of head and neck cancers are often analogous to chronic benign diseases and this can be a reason for a delay in correct diagnosis. A tumour should be considered if the problem persists for a long time and does not respond adequately to the usual treatment. The aim of this work is to show frequent and typical symptoms of head and neck cancers. Suspicious symptoms are asymmetric findings, chronic hemorrhagic secretion, trouble swallowing and a change or hoarseness in the voice.
