Overview

Up-to-date diagnostics of scaphoid bone fractures is based on clinical and X-ray investigation complemented with CT scan that is pivotal for deciding the correct therapeutic course. All instable scaphoid bone fractures have to be treated surgically although there is an option to use some less invasive procedures. It is also possible to treat surgically some stable scaphoid bone fractures, in accordance with patient’s wishes, and thus shorten the convalescence period and the sickness leave.
