Overview
The consequences of the widely spread habit of tobacco use are immense, both for health and for its socioeconomic impact. People are often paradoxically more prone to arguments regarding their appearance than the threat of cancer or myocardial infarction. This may be employed for prevention. There are numerous direct influences of smoking on the skin such as: premature skin aging, yellow staining of the nails, fingers and teeth, cosmetic changes, mucous and lip precanceroses, worsening of wound healing, burns, acne inverse, psoriasis, and especially palmoplantar pustulosis.
