Overview
The authors treated a group of 30 patients with mild hypertension checking the causal BP and using 24-bour ambulatory monitoring of the blond pressure for a 4-week period with nifedipine as monotherapy. They proved a significant drop of values of the causal systolic and diastolic blond pressure as well as a drop of the mean and individual pressure readings during 24-bour ambulatory monitoring of the blond pressure. The drop of pressure readings was associated with the proved drop of peripheral vascular rezistence. The authors did not prove a secondary rise of the cardiac output. The pressure curve during treatment with nifedipine imitated the physiological circadian blond pressure rhythm.Cordipin XL - nifedipine with controlled release is a suitable and safe preparation in the treatment of hypertension.
