The author analyzes the developmental trends of venereal diseases after 1989 in the CzechRepublic. Attempts are made to regulate by a system of controls venereal diseases (and at thesametime TB) in view of the increasing risk of contraction of venereal diseases in the era ofAIDS. This system was incorporated since Jan. 1, 1997 into the state health supervision ensuredby close collaboration of dermatovenereologists and authorities of the hygiene service.
