Overview
Results of empirical studies to what extent patients adhere exactly and consistently to thedoctor’s advice vary greatly. It may be foreseen that some 50% patients do not do exactly andconsistently to what the physician advises them to do. And it is not only possible but essentialto ask why the patient does not comply with the physician’s (or healer’s) advice. This is a problemfor psychologists.
Key words:
compliance - adherence - doctor-patient relationship.
