Overview

The objective of the paper is to make the reader familiar with some experience and situationsfrom the background of venereological out-patient departments ensuing from the specificity ofclients and patients, their sexual relations associated with risk behaviour which leads to thecontraction of sexually transmitted diseases. It provides an indirect insight into the patient’ssoul and reflects at the same time the social problems which include also unregulatedprostitution and associated criminality. It informs on the part played by foreigners, in particularfrom eastern European countries whose ratio in criminal offences and numbers of notifiedserious venereal diseases is rising steadily. With all these phenomena also the workingatmosphere of doctors and nurses engaged in this occupation is closely associated.
