Overview
Diabetes mellitus is the most common metabolic disease in connection with pregnancy. Pregnancy in diabetic women is high risk pregnancy. In effort to approach comparable perinatal outcomes with non diabetic population it is necessary to improve preconception care and keep strict metabolic compensation of diabetes mellitus during whole pregnancy. It requires interdisciplinar cooperation of expert diabetologist, perinatologist, and neonatologist on the field of diabetes in pregrancy. This article summarizes view of the obstetricion care of women with diabetes mellitus type 1 and 2.
