Rapidly metastising collecting duct carcinoma in combination with a bilateral urothelial carcinoma of renal pelvis

Overview
The authors present a case of a rare malignant collecting duct renal tumour, which was diagnosed in combination with a bilateral urothelial carcinoma of renal pelvis; the patient is a 72-year‑old woman. The authors point out the very bad prognosis of that type of carcinoma, which means that there was a time period of 12 months between the diagnosis and metastatic dissemination which led to the death of the patient. The authors would like to emphasise its synchronous occurrence together with the urothelial carcinoma. Both of these malignant tumours have the same origin.
