Overview
Current resuscitation guidelines are based on consensual opinions and medical guidelines from 2020. They were published as the European resuscitation council’s guidelines in 2021. A separate chapter is dedicated to paediatric resuscitation. It examines the resuscitation of the age category between 0 and 18 years, with the exception of newborn shortly after birth. The resuscitation of newborn shortly after birth is studied in another separate chapter. Practices of basic and advanced paediatric resuscitation with particular focus on the respiratory and blood flow ensuring are also mentioned in the article. As for the neonatal resuscitation, the therapeutic procedures in delivery rooms and subsequent provision of care for newborns with problems of postnatal adaptation are examined. Finally, the criteria of non-initiation of resuscitation as well as its discontinuation are presented.
