Management of sudden cardiac death in the young patients

Sudden cardiac death in the young is rare but very tragic event with a deep impact on family, medical community and lay public. The aim of the article is to provide for the professional pediatric community state-of-art knowledge about the management of pediatric patients with risk of arrhythmic sudden cardiac death. General principles of primary and secondary prevention are summarized together with specific therapeutic approaches in patients with specific arrhythmogenic entities such as structural heart diseases or primary arrhythmic syndromes.
