Overview
The article deals with the research of the manifestation of pain in neonates, with pain assessment andcomparison of two methods of taking of capillary (arterialised) blood. The objective of the research was to findout, how pre-term infants respond to the prick during blood sampling (for blood gasses or glucose tests) in routineoperation of neonatology departments. Whether there is a difference in perception and manifestation of pain whenpricking in the finger and in the heel and whether administration of glucose, pure water or use of pacifier prior toand during the intervention really influence perception and intensity of pain.
