The importance to follow up the individual growth curve in every child is stressed. In th e case of growthretardation, analysis of growth curves could elucidate the cause of growth impairment. Some typical growth curvesfor the main causes of growth retardation are reported. Early diagnosis of growth retardation is necessary to avoidlate onset of therapy in treatable disorders.
