Pityriasiform Maculopapulous Reticular Lesions on the Trunk

Overview

The authors report the case of a 25-year-old woman with the presence of pityriasiform lesions in the intermammary area, which spread to the chest, abdomen and neck within 1 year. Treatment with topical antifungals was without effect. Histological examination was compatible with the diagnosis of papillomatosis confluens et reticularis. Treatment withdoxycycline resulted in successful healing of the lesions. This article provides an overview of current knowledge about this disease.
