Overview
Recently, the number of immunocompromised patients after solid organ or haematopoetic stem cell transplantation rises. They have numerous dermatologic complications due to long-standing immunosuppression and its side effects. Main complications represent skin tumors, skin infections, skin symptoms of graft-versus-host disease and side effects of immunosuppressive drugs. Considering the increasing transplantation possibilities from non-related and elderly donors the dermatologists will face these complica tions more often. Correct diagnosis and early treatment of skin symptoms might decrease morbidity and mortality of transplanted patients.
Key words:
solid organ transplantation – haematopoetic stem cell transplantation – graft-versus-host disease – skin tumors – skin infections – side effects of immunosuppressive therapy
