Overview
The authors detected monozygotic twins who developed at the age of 30 years permanent notpainful oedema of the lower lip. In the case-history oedema of the lip was recorded in the probands’grandmother. Epicutaneous tests (the patients grow vegetables and flowers) were negative. As toroutine tests the early response to Peru balsam was positive, in one sibling also the late response topropolis. Histological examination confirmed the diagnosis of granulomatous cheilitis. Wedge-shapedexcision from the lower lip and administration of metronidazol were not successful.
