Paper presents recent views on the pathogenesis of the neuropsychiatric lupus and is aimed at themethods of clinical and laboratory examination, and at the supportive neurological methods of theliquor examination, electroencephalography (EEG), brain imaging using computer tomography(CT),magnetic resonance (MR), spectroscopy (SPECT) or positron emission tomography (PET). Themost useful technique appears to be the magnetic resonance of the brain and the complex examinationof liquor. Possibilities of treatment are briefly mentioned at the end of the paper.
