Objective:
Creation of a neovagina in patients with congenital vaginal aplasia and evaluation oflaparoscopic approach.Design: Pilot prospective.Setting: Department of Gynaecology and Minimally Invasive Surgery Hospital Na Homolce.Methods: Four patients with the above mentioned syndrome were included and the laparoscopicmodification of the open Vecchietti™s technique was used. All patients had a complete clinicalexamination and ultrasound evaluation.Results: No complications were found. The mean duration of surgery was 96 min. After two weeksa satisfactory vaginal length was achieved in all patients.Summary: The laparoscopic approach has all advantages of minimally invasive surgery. At thesame time the advantages of Vecchietti™s open technique are maintained.
