A complex odontoma in the apex of persisting tooth 73 in a 12-year female patientwas the cause of dystopic localization and retention of tooth 33. This became obvious fromcomparison of radiographic pictures formed within the time period of five years. The patientwas treated by surgery in general anesthesia.
