Overview
In the submitted paper the authors describe the method of computed tomography(CT)and multiplanar reconstruction (MPR)in impacted teeth.Basic CT scans provide accurateand detailed information on the morphology and position of teeth impacted in the jaw and theirrelationship to surrounding anatomical structures.MPR presents the images of transversesections of the jaws and dental arches at selected planes without extra scans.MPR improvesthe three-dimensional localization of retained teeth.MPR is so far the only reliable method forvisualization of resorptions in contact areas between ectopic erupting and impacted teeth androots of neighbouring teeth.Data obtained by CT examination are important for planning oforthodontic and surgical treatment of impacted teeth. The objective of the presented paper isto demonstrate the diagnostic possibilities of CT and MPR focused on imaging of impacted teeth. The authors present examples of MPR images of different cases on which they demon-strate the possible contribution to clinical practice
