Overview
The authors discuss in the submitted paper advances in the treatment of maxillo-orthopaedic anomalies in different points. They put greatest emphasis on collaboration with a maxillary orthopaedist. Intervention on both jaws makes it possible to create a stable and balanced occlusion with a favourable cosmetic result. The possibility to eliminate rigid IMF enables bone to heal under dynamic conditions. The postoperative comfort of the patient is also greater.
