Overview
Alcoholism in the elderly people is a problem which recently has been given particular attention by sociologists, psychologists, psychiatrists as well as somatic medicine. The author presents a survey of literature directed to epidemiology, risk factors, clinical manifestation, and treatment of alcohol abuse and dependence in the elderly.
