Overview
The objective of the presented work is to create the social model of mental disorders. The modelshould refl ect mental disorder in relation to functioning in the society. We proposed the social modelof mental disorders based upon two societal levels, both on macrosocietal and microsocietal level. These prospects are more profoundly described in sociology. In our opinion, they are in congruencewith the social model of mental disorders. This model enables more thoroughly and precisely depictthe patient’s situation as well as to assess more in depth his/her role in the social environment. Moreover, the model facilitates to assess social factors contributing to mental disorder of theindividual.
