Overview
Epilepsy is discussed as an ictal and interictal problem. The efficacy of re-cent pharmacotherapy in both these phases of epilepsy is described. The goalof antiepileptic therapy is to improve the quality of life and, not only seizurefrequency reduction in the epileptic patient. Epilepsy involves more thanjust seizures, and its management is a neuropsychiatric problem. In this sen-se modern contemporary antiepileptic pharmacotherapy opens a wider spa-ce for psychosocial integration and a better quality of life.
