Overview

The key problems with comparative experiments of quantitative measurement procedures are the limits of agreement determination that are valid for the full range of values included in a given study. Only in this way is it possible to interpret the data correctly and draw adequate conclusions. Within the available regression techniques framework, it is a matter of designing the most appropriate one to determine the relationship between the measurement procedures being compared with each other and describing the strengths and weaknesses of these techniques for given data sets.

The first part presents the key points of the updated CLSI guideline EP09c, Comparison of measurement procedures and bias estimation using patient samples [2], 3rd edition, published in 2018. The second part presents a practical example of a comparative experiment using available statistical SW tools especially suitable for use in comparative experiments.
