Overview
The paper deals with issues important for publishing activity with special emphasis on the issue of publications in the field of medicine. Specifically, the paper deals with the definition of a work and the definition of parts of publications that cannot be considered works. However, it also lists alternative approaches to protection through the specific rights of the database acquirer. Furthermore, the author’s rights themselves are discussed here, both positively and negatively, i.e., from the point of view of their limitation, for example in the context of the employee’s work or school work. Last but not least, it represents a certain controversy over who is the author and to whom this role is only incorrectly attributed in the context of the form of his contribution to the creation of the work.
