Overview

The article deals with the issue of urinary bladder trauma. It classifies bladder trauma to blunt, open, and iatrogenic ones. Fundamentals of clinical symptomatology are described, particularly from the point of intraperitoneal or extraperitoneal type of trauma. In diagnostic procedures, emphasis is placed on anamnestic data and radiologic methods. In terms of treatment, surgical procedure is discussed in detail and the opportunity of conservative therapy is mentioned in some case of extraperitoneal trauma. Increased possibility of trauma in case of chronic changes of bladder wall is emphasized.
