Overview

Introduction and Methods:
The authors observe maxillofacial injuries as well the isolated as those combined with polytrauma treated in inpatient department of University hospital Ostrava in period of 2 years.

Results:
They report about causations of traumas divided according to the type together with total number of patients and particular injures.

Treatment in our departement:
The second part of the article targets the treatment of injuries as is performed in University hospital Ostrava. The autors refer to some differences in treatment standards related to the trauma severity.

Discussion and Conclusion:
They stress the need of interdisciplinary cooperation under the aegis of Trauma center.
