For assessment of objectives of quality, its maintenance, control and monitoring a number of sophisti-cated methods incl. statistical ones were elaborated and are used. The author describes some of thesetools which belong to the basic equipment of modern management. The mentioned procedures areexplained on actual examples incl. the transfusion service. The majority of the described tools hasa wide application in the whole theory and practice of management, not only quality control. „Thebasis of high standard of quality management is to establish the quality aims and quality policy." Theauthor mentions the advantages of team work, describes briefly Deming’s cycle. The basic tool forsystematic and independent investigation of the achieved quality level are audits. The author describesseven simple tools for improvement of quality: 1. developmental diagram, 2. recorders, 3. histogram,4. Ishikawa diagram, 5. Paret’s graph, 6. point (correlation) diagram and 7. regulation diagram(statistical regulation of the process).
