The author investigated in a group of 99 university students of the Economic Faculty in Cheb theirsensations and mental condition before and after the first blood donation. The enquiry method SUPOS7 was used. The differences of different items characterizing the mental condition before and afterblood donation were tested by the t-test. Six of seven assessed differences were statistically significantat the 95.5% level, one difference was not significant. After the first blood donation the psychic stateand sensations of the donors change. The tension, uncertainty, anxiety and fear decline, a feeling ofsatisfaction, good humour and rest increases. The variability of values of the recorded sensationsincreased markedly after blood donation.
