Overview
The article deals with design and verification of an easy-to-use method for compliance measurement in models of the respiratory system. A new term “effective compliance” has been proposed as an additional parameter to already existing adiabatic and isothermal compliances. A method of gastight testing is described as well. All the methods were tested using a set of compensated and uncompensated rigid models of the respiratory system as well as using passive and active lung models with adjustable compliances.
